On September 23, 2026, Yaskawa Electric Vietnam, in collaboration with Yaskawa Electric Corporation (Motion Division) and Yaskawa Asia Pacific, visited and held working sessions with Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HCMUT) and Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education (HCM-UTE). The activity aims to strengthen connections between businesses and universities while bringing technology and practical production experience closer to the training process.
In the context of automation playing an increasingly important role in production, equipping students with professional knowledge and hands-on experience with real-world technologies is one of the key factors in developing human resources for the industry.
Reviewing the Operational Efficiency of Yaskawa-Sponsored Labs
During the visit, representatives from HCMUT and HCM-UTE shared updates on the operational status and utilization of the labs sponsored by Yaskawa.
Through these labs, students have opportunities to gain hands-on experience with automation equipment and technologies during their studies and practical training. Feedback from the universities also helps Yaskawa better understand training needs and identify appropriate directions for future support.

Updating Motion Control and MECHATROLINK-4 Technology
In addition to reviewing the operation of the labs, Mr. Tatsuaki Wada, Manager, Solution Strategy Department, Motion Control Division, introduced key features of Yaskawa’s Motion Control products, with a focus on MECHATROLINK-4 technology and the MECHATROLINK communication network.

MECHATROLINK is a communication network technology used in motion control systems, enabling communication and data exchange among devices within an automation system.
Through the presentation and direct exchange, lecturers and students had the opportunity to learn how Motion devices are connected and coordinated within a Factory Automation (FA) system, gaining a broader understanding of the relationship between communication networks, Motion Control, and practical applications.
Towards a 3-Level Factory Automation Training System at HCM-UTE
At HCM-UTE, Yaskawa is promoting plans to continue supporting the university with the MECHATROLINK-4 Learning Kit, together with Yaskawa equipment previously sponsored. Through this initiative, the training system is being developed along a consistent roadmap, helping students gradually approach Factory Automation (FA), from communication networks and Motion Control to practical applications:
Factory Automation Network → Motion Control → Application
- Factory Automation Network: Learn about MECHATROLINK-4, communication, and device connectivity.
- Motion Control: Work with MP3300, Σ-7 Servo, and HMI to learn about motion control.
- Application: Apply the knowledge gained above through practical exercises involving Robots, Vision, Servos, Inverters, and HMI in automation applications.
With this roadmap, students can systematically develop their understanding of Factory Automation networks, Motion Control, and practical applications through hands-on experience with automation equipment. The addition of the MECHATROLINK-4 Learning Kit to the existing equipment system also helps expand the scope of practical training in the lab, enabling students to better understand how technologies and devices are connected and coordinated within an automation system.

Expanding International Career Opportunities
Alongside training activities and technology sharing, Yaskawa also aims to strengthen recruitment connections with universities in the future.
Through these cooperation programs, qualified students with suitable career aspirations will have more opportunities to learn about the working environment at Yaskawa Electric Corporation in Japan, expanding their career opportunities in the field of Factory Automation and international industrial environments.
The combination of training, hands-on practice, and career opportunities helps build a bridge between the classroom and the corporate environment, while better preparing students for their future careers.
Accompanying the Next Generation of Automation Engineers
The cooperation between Yaskawa and universities not only provides students with opportunities to access modern Factory Automation technologies, but also strengthens the connection between academic training and the practical needs of businesses.
Moving forward, Yaskawa will continue to work with universities on training, hands-on practice, and career networking activities, bringing industrial automation technologies closer to the next generation of automation engineers.
