On January 24, 2024, Yaskawa Electric Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Yaskawa) marked a significant step in supporting education and research in Vietnam by donating the "Yaskawa i3-Mechatronics" laboratory to the Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education (HCMUTE). This event not only signifies a close collaboration between the industrial and educational sectors but also opens new doors for the development of the automation field in Vietnam.
With a total sponsorship value of $253,000, equivalent to 5,897,000,000 VND, this new laboratory will enable HCMUTE students to access the most advanced technologies in the field of automation. Equipped with three modern robotic systems, simulating an intelligent automated production line, it offers opportunities to enhance practical skills and in-depth knowledge for students.

Associate Professor Dr. Le Hieu Giang, Acting Rector of HCMUTE, expressed his deep gratitude to Yaskawa in his speech: "I would like to extend my thanks to Yaskawa Corporation for their meaningful and valuable support to our students, especially those in the Automation field." He also expressed the desire for more extensive collaborations in the future, aiming to significantly benefit the Robotics and Automation sector.
Mr. Nguyen Linh, the Sales Manager for the Southern Region of Yaskawa Vietnam, emphasized the importance of partnering with educational institutions: "Providing opportunities for students to experience real-world production like in the HCMUTE laboratory not only enhances their knowledge and skills but also benefits businesses in building a high-quality workforce, ready to operate and use Yaskawa's robotic systems."
Additionally, Mr. Linh proposed enhancing training sessions and specialized topics, maximizing the use of the sponsored lab, establishing a curriculum suitable for businesses using Yaskawa robots, and developing research topics in collaboration between Yaskawa and experts at HCMUTE. Importantly, he stressed building a program connecting business associations, partners with Yaskawa, contributing to improving the quality of Vietnam's human resources in the automation field.
